electron-ipc

Promise backed IPC For Electron

electron-ipc lets you do request/response with PubSub, using Promises.

main.js:

const ipc = require('electron-ipc')

ipc.on('ping', msg => {
  console.log('ping received', msg) // 'ping received hello!!
  // You can also just do `return 'pong'`;
  return Promise.resolve('pong')
})

renderer:

const ipc = require('electron-ipc')

ipc.publish('ping', 'hello!').then(res => {
  console.log(res) // 'pong'
})

That's all she wrote folks. Of course since it is IPC, you can only send JSON-serializable data back and forth.

Under the hood, electron-ipc uses handoff.js
